Since 2011 Kirsten works at Wybenga Advocaten. She specializes in employment law and also works in the area of maritime law. Kirsten advises shipping yards, ship owners, employment agencies, companies active in Dutch ports, works councils in the maritime sector and crew members. Her clients are active in maritime trade, the offshore sector, shipbuilding, the yachting industry and in fisheries.
In addition to regular employment law, Kirsten advises on the legal aspects of working in the maritime sector, for example international employment constructions, MLC aspects, collective labour agreement matters and enforcement cases, such as challenging fines imposed for violating the Foreign Nationals (Employment) Act (Wav). Assisting organisations with compliancy in relation to labour law regulations is an important part of her practice. She also advises about the registration of ships and flag-related aspects. Kirsten has a varied attachment and execution practice, often in an international setting. She also assists clients in proceedings before the Maritime Disciplinary Court.
Kirsten has completed the Grotius specialisation course Employment Law and is a member of the Dutch Employment Lawyers Association (VAAN), the Rotterdam Employment Lawyers Association (VRAA) and the Dutch Association of Transport Law (NVV).
